IRQ Parties mp3 Recordings (the early years)

These mp3's were recorded live from the mixer at the (nearly)monthly IRQ parties at the FunHause (now closed) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Check out the original IRQ info page at http://www.asciipr0n.con/irq and see the modern (aka crummy) IRQ on Facebook to find out when the next one will be around.

2023 (holy shit!): irq20.com

2017: Some IRQ things have happened in the past 4 years but I don't have any recordings. This page is rotting, just like the rest of us.

2013: 10 year anniversary IRQ is March 9th in the Gladstone Hotel ballroom, a return to it's original venue! This Interrupt Request 10 year thing will be broadcast on radioreddit

2008 tru 2012: There were several IRQ parties around the city over this span, but they weren't recorded and this page wasn't updated. However, It's been almost 10 years and the Interrupt Request parties continue to live, breathe, and grow.

2007: Next IRQ is June 22nd at the gladstone hotel in the art bar!

October 2006: `IRQ: context switch` went down on October 13 2006 at the gladstone hotel in the art bar, with much success. Rumor has it another will be along before the end of 2006, or early 2007. Stay tuned kids, in the meantime, the lastest recordings are below!

February 2006: The IRQ parties have been on an indefinate hiatus since mid 2005, apologies to all who missed the chance to experience the true geek party. Pray for a resurrection!

August 2004: actually the organization of IRQ has been shuffled around a little, the new homepage is located at http://www.irq-party.com. The party is now no cover, and is bi-monthly, occuring on the 2nd and 4th wednesday of every month.

These irq mp3 files are labelled by the irq party they were recorded at, and the acts are numbered in the order of appearance. Not all the irq parties have been recorded, and of those that were recorded only irq9 is 100% complete. On some of the pre irq8 recordings the levels are a bit unstable, as a result some of them are quiet and some are distorted.

Files with dates in the name (not numbered) were recorded after the party moved to its bi-monthly no cover format.

Files named countdown, mixdown, remixdown, teaser and stream intro are Text to Speech 'commercials' that were generated to be broadcast on the live IRQ mp3 stream. The files numbered with an '!' are the original unaltered recordings. The chopping of the sets has been done by Cerebral Itch, one of the resident IRQ dj's. Because they were seperated after the fact there is some cross-contamination between sets.

You can tune into the irq party stream, which is a permanent loop of these mp3 streaming at 64kbps, at http://cameronroberts.ca:8000. The new irq mp3 recordings are added to the streams playlist as they are recorded.

These were recorded on using an SB Live 'value' on an AMD Athlon 600, using the Darkice live audio streamer.
These files are hosted and streamed from a CameronRoberts.ca FreeBSD jail.
